Best three months of my life. Great leader, who also helped improve my CV and write my personal statement. So I'm very satisfied with the support of the program's staff!

Your Itinerary

What you'll do and where you'll go, from the day you arrive until you hop on a plane back home.
  • Day 1 Tignes
You’ll fly out with the others and will be taken to your 4-bed studio apartment, just a 3 minute walk from the central bus station and a 5 minute walk from the primary ski lifts. Super close to the bars, supermarkets and restaurants. Typical team size is 10.
  • Day 2 BASI Level 1 Training
Mon-Fri. You‘ll start the ‘all day’ training for the BASI Level 1 – this is the entry level course for students who wish to join the BASI system. This will include: video analysis, ski school shadowing, race and freestyle training.
  • Day 14 BASI Level 1 Assessment
Mon-Fri. This is a 5 day course conducted by a fully registered BASI ski instructor, covering safe skiing practice, planning, conducting and evaluating an instructing session, participating in an accident and emergency activity, knowing and understanding how to improve personal skiing and instructing.
  • Day 21 Ski Training and Practice
Mon, Wed, Fri - all day ski training, with Tues and Thurs – ski practice. Includes: ski school shadowing, safeguarding children and a 2 day first aid course.
  • Day 49 Avalanche Awareness Course
Mon-Fri - All-day training. Includes: avalanche awareness course, more race and freestyle training.
  • Day 56 BASI Level 2 Prep and Assessment
Over a 10 day period you’ll be trained and assessed on your piste performance: bumps, steeps, variable snow and freestyle, your communication skills, your teaching style to match customer needs, your lesson flow and content and climate setting.
  • Day 70 Free Ski
Final week to free ski before heading off to Italy to work for 2 further weeks.
  • + Heli Skiing Experience
An incredible thrill. Trek over to ‘Mickey’s Ears’ and ski some insane and untracked powder through the hidden valley and trees to meet your helicopter, ready to take you back to Tignes. Once you’ve experienced this type of skiing, you’ll realise it’s the only way to go.
  • + Weekends
With no training at the weekends you can spend your time exploring the 300 kilometres of tracked piste and the world class, off-piste skiing in this region plus sampling some of the best bars in the Alps. Further to this, in March the Winter X Games arrive in town, a 4-day showcase of the world’s best freeride skiers.

Good news: registration for this program is still open
